The Student is Tired
Slumping and sagging
I collapse into my overused desk.
I focus on the lecture until
sleepiness takes over.
Drooping eyes,
dragging handwriting,
supporting my head upon my palm
which transforms into my bedside pillow,
the clock mocking me with ticks and tocks.
I open my eyes,
spotting my fellow classmates
snickering and taking pictures of my squashed face.
Dropping down in embarrassment and
keeping my face hidden
Why won’t this day end!
