The black and white checkered ball drills itself across the field
A soft touch of the foot floats the ball to the ground
The runner's breath-taking speed was quickly revealed
The crowd soon after created lots of sound

The footsteps of the defenders were quickly drowned out
All that was left of the other team was the goalkeeper
The other team was surely filled with doubt
With our victory in sight, the ball took a detour

It screamed past the goal, just barely missing
However, our heads picked up, waiting for a chance to rebound
We were running out of time and were going to take anything
We got the ball and started to pass it around

It soon was very close to getting in the goal
The ball was struck by a foot and pounded the back of the net
We celebrated after with some rock and roll
We had played so well, we had no regrets
