"what you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it."

I find the rope of strength
in my weary world of misery
through a major endurance
the light I now can see.
I had to learn independence
and embrace all of my pain
I had to set a goal in my heart
to merely keep me sane.
I had to drop the thought of you
the memories, a thousand pounds
I stopped requiring your comfort
I stopped needing you around.
You are now quiet to my ears
as you have always been
if you say you never cared,
then why do I call you my friend?
Oh well, those thoughts are gone
I refuse to be weighed down
I shall amplify my voice
that, to you, made not a sound.
I am in the light now
I am not so blind
for I know one thing,
that only the strong shall survive.
