An Ode to a Book
I travel with ease to faraway lands
Seeing sights I wish to someday go
Emotions consume me without even trying
Laughing many times, crying at others
Where you will take me next I do not know

With print as black as night
On paper that is quite fair
An open book upon your lap can take you anywhere
 With spines of all colors
There is nothing quite the same

You can do dangerous things from the safety of your home
Places not even of this world will fill your vision
 Monsters and animals all around
 Different shapes, sizes, and tones
The good, the bad, and the ugly all in one place

A good book can take you anywhere
That is one thing that I hold true
Some books let me down, but they are easily replaced
A good book is all I need to be happy
No other thing is as dear to my heart
