Waking up on the beach

“Waking up on the beach”

I wake up on the beach and yawn
Just to witness
the sun at dawn
The sunshine breaks through the clouds
and the birds chirp
oh so loud

I feel the rays of sun tingling my skin
And now I know
the Earth is my kin
Breathing in the salty air
I run my fingers through my long flowing hair

And all the while I sit there and smile
Knowing the world loves this child
