Here's to the People like Me
Here’s to the people just like me,
To the barely five footers,
To the midnight snackers,
To the bare foot walkers,
To the “I would do this if that happened”,
But realize that’s not the truth
To the ones who wish they could do this, but never put the effort
To the ones who won’t give up
Here’s to all the late night studies,
To the last minute workers,
To the fuzzy, polar bear looking cat
Who used to bite at my toes at night.
To the think I canners, but wonters.
To the don’t know what to doers.
To the ones who won’t give up.
Here’s to the people who take five hours
Just to pick a color to paint your nails.
To the ones addicted to every social network out there
To the ones who text in class,
And never get caught
To the trippers, fumblers, and fall downers.
To the top girls in the stunt group.
To the ones who won’t give up.
Here’s to the color-changing, cricket eating
Chameleon named Tarzan.
To the drawers, painters, and scribblers of notebooks
To the pillows, the clouds of soft fabric, that are always there for you
To the cheesy, meat filled tater tot casserole
To the one’s who wear glasses proudly,
To the one’s who won’t give up.
Here’s to people who are just like me
To the people who always fight with their siblings,
Even if they’re wrong
To those who wish they could just have a break
To the ones who may not be like everyone else,
But in a good way
To those who won’t give up
