Ignorance is Bliss
Dark Denim overalls
Her friends’ Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet,
all jumping around on a pocket to her right
She swings on the wooden set

Laughing, with her dad by her side
It’s fall and she throws the leafs

Long brown ringlets down to her back
She spins, letting it fly with her arms out like wings of a bird
Her dad sweeps her up, spinning the girl high,
 but bringing her down slowly

With a kiss on the cheek her dad’s all done playing now
The little girl, happy as can be

The nostalgia of innocence and free spirit
Now hiding inside the girl behind this page
Only telling the story of who she was
 Of who, I was
