Distance
You are my girl
My life and my world
Eyes so bright
You’d think that they were pearls
It makes me happy
Every time you smile,
Though I haven’t seen it
In quite a while
I had to leave
For us to be together
I hope you understand;
But we will beat this inclement weather
You are so far away
But to me that means nothing;
I would walk around the earth
Believe me I’m not bluffing
Apart but still connected
Our love will never die
I need you more than ever
I think I’m gonna cry
I’m writing you this poem
Hoping you will see;
That you really are
The other half of me.
