Try and try, as I might.
This is no competition, there is no fight.
I could build a house in an hour, but you'd have a whole town.
There just seems to be no winning, when your around.
What would I give, to be better than the rest.
What would I do, if I wasn't second best.

As if you're the sun, and I'm the moon waiting for you to set down.
Second best is all I know, always behind you, never ahead.
Even if i could outshine, Just like the moon.
The light wouldn't be mine, but a much more seemingly lack-lustrous glow.
Try and try as I might, you lead all competition.
Give it your best fight. And I my friend,
I'm second best, and not that much better than the rest.
