Life-Lesson Love Lost
The loss of him has her beat,
Alcohol is her defeat,
It started at a party,
It started with all fun,
Little did they know whose fate would come undone.
She was with her boyfriend,
Perfect match they were,
“He won’t drink,” she said, “I’m sure!”
It started with one drink,
And led to many more,
Now thinking of that night makes her heart feel sore…
After a while she said “Let’s go!” and he said “Let’s stay!”
Soon she took his keys away,
He took them back and said “I’m fine!”
She said “No! I don’t want you to drive!”
But she gave in and got in the car,
Later she learned they didn’t get far…
Waking up in a daze,
Everything still in a strange haze,
Later she went to his grave…
There is where it hit her hard and then she wrote..
“My lesson learned, is don’t let loved ones drink and drive.
Take it from the one who survived.
That was my one fatal mistake,
So stay clear or you will face all the pain my heart can NEVER erase
