I Sit and Stand
I sit and stand,
In a place where my body temperature controls.
A place that can hold me captive for 2 short, thoughtless minutes,
Yet this same place can release my mind free, and letting time run along with it.
There is a place where I can be completely alone,
So alone that I don’t even feel connected to my own body.
Or this same place can keep me sustained to my thoughts
And allow me to share my “greatest ideas” as if there is actually an audience listening.
A place that rejuvenates me, and takes me into somewhere else,
Anywhere else, everywhere else.
A box can describe it, or rectangle,
Yet it is still the same to me.
My private sanctuary,
The shower.
