The Art of "Staying Out Of It"
He told me to
 Sew my mouth closed
and tie myself to a wall.
 He thinks I'll say things
 to make his skin crawl.

 He must think I'm weak,
 and ignorant,
 and distraught,
When I really just don't want
 to be a minor character,
 in this major plot.

 He told me that
I would get bruises and cuts.
 I'm too stubborn to
except all his "no's" and his "but's"

He must know that I'm impulsive,
 and headstrong,
 and distraught,
When I refuse to be a minor character,
 in this major plot.
