" Be yourself, everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day."
-E. B. White

Starts off with a rhythm of the drums
Maybe with a snare
Or a kick from the bass
A dash with a clash of the symbols
To spark lyrics that comes from the heart
That gives more meaning than words written off a page
That can be addictive just like a drug
Where you can’t get enough
Hopefully to teach the generation before us
What is really is like to make a meaningful phrase
Rather than to sing about sex, drugs, and games
That no one really knows how to play
Do these rappers realize what they are teaching these kids now a days
Thinking they sing these spherical lyrics
When they are really just spitting words across a page
Repeating the same words to make a hit
To sell it and achieve fame
Singing all the same s*** and it blends in with the rest
Sounding all the same, tell me what happened to all the morals
Of this world in which we call home
Seems like this ship has sunken with the little dignity this world had left
Tell me where all the good people have gone
Cause all I see is this sinking ship
Take me to the magically land full of hope and dreams of real people
Can you help me find it
People talk and talk
But little do I see them walk the walk
Liar stand before me
Rapping and talking about things they have never lived
I’m not gonna sit here and tell you made up stories
I’m only 17 and I haven’t experienced all the trips of the worlds has to offer
Yet I am not talking about any high
Now I ain’t saying that this will be healing
But maybe it will be revealing
To the reality before us
That sometimes we forget
I can only tell you about the things I have lived
As I am not gonna preach to you no lie
As I am no fake
Now I am not saying I am the only one who sees all of this
As I am sad to say
Originality is dead
It passed away a long time ago
As everything is said, reused, and recycled
World full of hate
Where things are taken for granted
People forgot how to appreciate
Seems like this ship has sunken with the little dignity people have left
Tell me where all the good people have gone
Cause all I see is this sinking ship
Take me to the magical place full of hopes and dreams of real people
Can you help me find it
Because we all sit and stare trying to be like someone else
One day we are all just going to blend in
What is gonna be different
Dreams will die as we will all be the same
Broken and hopeless
We all will be headed in the same direction
Leading no where
As we all have the same dreams
To believe we are going to be someone
Yet we make all the same wrong decisions
Wearing the weight of many burdens among us
But the only way out is truth
Healing full of hurt that can open eyes that were closed shut
To a new perspective veering away from death
So you won’t be the next one we will be mourning for
But maybe the next one who will talk about change
Change the world and leave and imprint that will help change the mind of the youth
Let’s get creative and be someone different
Take a look in the mirror and dare to be different
As the only way to make a difference is to take a chance
A risk to be different
Seems like this ship has sunken with the little dignity this world had left
Tell me where all the good people have gone
Cause all I see is this sinking ship
Take me to the magically land full of hope and dreams of real people
Can you help me find it

The author's comments:
It seems like rappers are giving the youthful generations the wrong message, not considering the repercussions of what their words will have on us. It seems as if morals have been lost in many individuals and I am left wondering where all the kindness left. I hope this can open your eyes.
