Crystalline
Don’t try to hide it
Others hear from behind the locked door
Hushed cries
Whispered moans
Strangled sobs
These others would never want to hurt you
Unlike the one you once knew
That never cared
But to start again
You need to realize
Baby, you’re a mud puddle
The crystalline pool you once were
No longer sparkles in the afternoon sun
Because of him
You have become a pool tainted with scum
Because of him
Your now dull chocolate orbs are distrustful
Because of him
Your once vibrant face is emotionless and empty
Because of him
You might never accept the love I feel for you
But if you allowed me
I would be glad just to stay by your side
Just to wipe away your tears
And help you become
The untainted crystalline pool you once were
If you allowed me
