This Poem Is For...
This poem is for the broken and the damned.
For the misfit toys who are missing a limb.
For the person who can't seem to be good enough.
Or those kids dealing with depression and beating themselves up.
This is to that boy who lies to cover up for the bruises his family gives him.
To the girl who gets smacked by her boyfriend, but won't quit him.
This poem goes out to that boy who is addicted to drugs for the escape.
And to the girl who uses boys as her way of dealing with hate.
This poem is written for the boy who can't seem to be who everyone wants him to be.
And to the girl who leans over the toilet and strives to be the 90 pounds of perfect which in her mind she'll never be.
This poem is meant for everyone.
Even you with the scars on your wrist or hips and a plastered smile on your lips.
This poem is for you.
The person walking through life with a mask on afraid of truly letting yourself open up.
The person wanting to be saved because they are drowning in self-hate.
It's time to get real and take the mask off.
Hope is extending its hand.
The question is,
will you take it?
