My fountain sits there so serene and so oblivious
I stand there pouring my heart out reflecting on my life now, my life after
The water fills its vase but it has no heart, no soul no being

But why must it look at me so?

My fountain has no problems, no expectations to uphold but still I wait for it to take me over

It stands there enjoying the view, enjoying my life as it unfolds
It stares at me with pity, with hatred in its heart
But why must it look at me so?

My fountain has a great life, a great life it shows to me with greed
But why must it treat me like so?

I wrote this piece for my english class and decided to submit it. It personifies a water fountain.
