Final Bow
Dear Drummer,
With the beat kept steady in your hands
The world has been on your shoulders
Holding you down as much as it can
But still you played that same old rhythm buried into your mind
Brave enough to stand alone
But still scared to even try
You're broken, injured, and bruised
But you don't want to be fixed
You ignore all the hands held out to you
Because you think it's all a trick
And the spotlight hurts your eyes
But you smiled anyways
Your hands hurt and your ears went deaf
And I slowly watched you fade
Soon you'll lose yourself
And fall off your truly gifted path
So pick yourself up slowly
So you never lose your mind as you try to get it back
The rhythm changes beats
But you played on and on
And the part that scares me the most
Is soon your music will be gone
Because on that one "Silent Night"
We soon drifted apart
And we never spoke a word
As you were "Dancing Away With My Heart"
But I've always believed in that drummer
That I met one normal day
And I knew one day some day
He would soon fly away
So when it's all said and done
And your music has finally died down
I will cheer even if the crowd boos
As you take your last and final bow.
