there is a child in me
one who doesn't understand
what about her is unlovable
why her actions are unforgivable
why her efforts are unnoticeable
why her ideas are dismissible
why her right-doings are forgettable
why her reasoning is illogical
why her voice is inaudible
there is a child in me
terrified
whose survival depends
on the tenderness of another
of a mother
who has a child inside of her
one who doesn't understand
