Strange Thing
Hope is a strange thing
It will make you wait outside and sit in the rain
While the water is rolling down your face
You will feel two things, joy and pain.
A knife through your heart and a smile on your face
You will watch the blood drip down the drain
And disappear drop by drop
All the while you think positive thoughts.
Odd isn’t it? Don’t you wonder
That you don’t mind the rolling thunder
As long as you have something to hold onto
A raft in the sea of cold and heavy sorrow.
A dream in the distance, a light in the darkness
Both things that always, come back to haunt us
So much so that you will constantly ponder
What could have been, and what love could offer.
So chase your dreams, and follow your heart
But don’t get lost, in the hopeless dark.
