Come.
Dock your sea-worn barge.
Rest your sail,
Bleached by the briny blue,
Lightened by the magnificent, blinding orb
Hanging
In the azure depths of Heaven.

The enormous abyss,
With its misleading, tiresome currents –
At times churning with rage,
At times as pure and calm as the first gentle snow of winter –
Has swept you to your long awaited paradise.

Set aside from a sick man’s society,
This Eden will seclude you
From those who cannot seem
To fulfill themselves through you.
Here,
You will find the rest you’ve been yearning for.

Come.
Release all fears and doubts.
Feel all pressure from others flow from your body
Like the tears streaming down your delicate rose petal pink cheeks.
Relax as the river of your past –
All emotional, physical and mental stress –
Flushes from every crevice of your being,
Leaving you lighter,
Happier,
And at long last,
At peace.

At long last -
At long, long last –
Rest your mangled self.
Allow every frayed nerve
To heal
At the hands of peaceful time away.
Peaceful time away
From a sick man’s society.

What began as an english project for Homer's The Odyssey turned into a much more meaningful, personal piece. Was it a hit or miss? Tell me what you think! :)
