maybe you weren’t waiting for me or for you but for something

that's all we do we wait for the computers to turn on

we wait for the books to come out

we wait for that game we love to come out then we wait for Christmas or our birthday to get it

or the next paycheck

or we wait for the politician to come along and fix things

because that's what we as a society are tuned to do

you wait for your food at the restaurant you wait for the waiters when you are doing the waiting

you wait for your favorite song until you start dancing

you right now are waiting for this poem to end so you can go wait to do something actually want to do....

despite the fact that you thought it was over you still wait for me to say something meaningful
