It's a sign of great inner insecurity to be hostile to the unfamiliar. -Anais Nin

The colors in your eyes are
still a mystery to me,
but I look forward to the
sound of your voice.
Though I hardly know when
to take your words seriously.
But I know
your music speaks to me.
We’re only beginning
to know each other,
barely more than strangers
in a sense.
Nonetheless, I like
the way subtle animation
plays on your lips and
glimmers deep within your eyes.
I liked the way I felt,
smiling with astonishment
and mild elation
when we spoke for the first time
that day. I wonder,
is this the beginning
of a journey among budding acquaintances?

Your poem was beautiful. Very thought-provoking and great imagery. Keep up the good work.
