An ode to you.

To someone I loved,
But I never really knew.

To someone who taught,
But never really learned.
To someone who cooked,
But never really ate.

To someone who smiled,
But never realized happiness.
To someone who gave,
But never received.

To someone who loathed,
But loved so much more.
To someone I loved,
But now I adore.

The author's comments:
After someone dies, people look back and see how they lived. This is about a person whose image was emulated by perfectionists. Its also about the person that lived behind the perfection of their image, that even the closest people to them didn't know, as they lived up to the perfect image they had created for themselves.
