Only once does someone come along
With the power to fix
Four broken people.
With the ability to make them feel Safe,
Warm,
Loved,
Complete.

Only once does that person stick around
And make the family whole,
Happy,
Cozy,
Important.

This is a once in a lifetime person,
And I do believe,
That person is you.
I love you.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem for my step-dad's birthday. I love him and I think he is more of a dad than my biological father could ever be. I hope that when people read this, they will think of a very important person in their life, and they will tell that person how much they mean to them.
