Buyer of Freedom
War.

 That was my distant past.

 I have gone through it.

 Gambling life or death.

The Vietnam War, that was my war.

 But, I wasn’t just a name on a wall.

Freedom, that’s what I was fighting for.

 I was a soldier.

 I gambled for freedom.

But, it wasn’t an easy journey.

I risked my life every day for this country that

 we call the USA.

Until I was shot in the shoulder trying to save one of my friends.

Though, he still got shot in the head and, died instantly.

I went to the hospital and received a Purple Heart.

 I am not going back.

I purchased freedom from a seller of fate and,

fate took hold of my friend with it’s cold hand.

You know the saying “Freedom ain’t free.”

 That is true.

I am a buyer of freedom.

 I am a veteran.
