Dreaming
When we stepped out of the forest
 Sun shone on our faces
The world was new and calm
 Taking baby steps, the ground
 Wavered under me
 I remember thinking
 I was in another world
 One fuzzy at the edges
 Where nothing mattered
He and I laughed and twirled through the air
 Until we grew tired
Then we laid on the warm lush grass
 And slept

 I woke with a start
 He is gone
I am left alone in the cold darkness
I shiver against the dewy grass
 Get up slowly,
 And run home
