I was raised by
Simple red lines
Carved into delicate skin
To remind myself
That I am alive.

I was raised by
"Don't go deeper,
They can't lose you.
You can't lose them."

I was raised by
Pen marks and words
Painted over scarred skin
To remind myself
To stay alive
