I'm Not Your Average Teenage Girl

I'm not your average teenage girl
I don't like going to the mall or gossiping about who's dating who
I just don't care
I like picking up a new book and staying up way past midnight, making my way through the character's mind
I like listening to the hum of my sewing machine and the scratch of my rotary cutter, slicing through layers of fabric
I like writing words that sound crazy good when they're put together
I respect my parents and others around me
I'm making a place for myself in this chaotic world, not the other way around
That's the only way I'll succeed
I am extremely shy, but that's okay
Like I said, I'm not your average teenage girl

Very relatable. i love reading at night. I love putting words together. I can't say i'm just like you, but this poem reminds me of me in a way. We have like minds (:
