"Dream"

If I didn’t dream,
things would not be what they seem.
There wouldn’t be a “you” and there wouldn’t be a “me.”
There would be no such thing as “we.”
If you didn’t have my trust,
there could never be an “us.”
There wouldn’t be a hand to hold,
and no hearts to be sold.
Every night, I lay awake,
thinking what I could do for your sake.
I could do many things, if I’d only dream.
Things could be what they seem.
