Have you ever tried to be perfect?
Its not an easy thing to do..
really it's impossible.
But sometimes that whats expected of you.

I've always tried my hardest,
at everything I do.
I've always stayed out of trouble.
Been a goody-two-shoes.
But no matter how hard I try,
I'm never good enough for you.

You expect me to be perfect,
To be the best there is.
Why can't you understand,
I'm just a stressed out kid.

Sometimes I need a break,
A chance to go run free.
Sometimes you've got to unlock my cage,
And let me just be me.
I know you want the best for me,
To give me the life you never had.
But there comes a time when you've got to see,
Too much perfection can be bad.

Please don't think I'm complaining
I love being the best..
I just want to let you know..
I'm not perfect,
I'm not the best.
But I'll keep trying to be..
As long as you believe in me.
