Ode to a Star
A ball
 of burning
 gas
 seen only in
 the dark.

 You burn
 bright
 in the dark
 night
 yet are
 unseen in
 radiant day.

 You are known
 by hues of
 lively
 white,
 deep river
 blue,
 liquid
 amber,
 and sandy
 gold.

 From the
 universe
 you stay and
 watch
 life
 unfold.

 I wish upon
 your beauty,
 for problems
 that are
 unsolved.
 Yet
 you
 do
 nothing.

 I wonder,
 do I ask
 too much?
 With your beauty
 how can I
 blame you
 for all the faults?
 Should I
 instead ask,
 what do you
 want?
