You miss 100% of the shots you never take
-Wayne Gretzky

As my legs move forward, my mind moves back, trying to do well, and get my life back on track.
The deeds that have been done cant be explained, it can’t be explained
The anger and pain
Weak, bruised and shaking hands leave me hollow and cold, I remind myself
“ All I want in life is to have respect and be bold.”
A task that I fell is a never-ending feat
Yet still
My hands work to try and beat the incomplete.
For now all that can be said is done and about, never give up your chance to stand out
This is the advice that I’m giving to you, take time to read this and maybe
Take my clue

The author's comments:
The way that this poem is put together is by a series of sentences with individual importance. Each line describes a event that has taken place in my life. The first line, I became lazy in school and started to fail classes. The second line explains my anger towards myself and how I cant explain why I felt the need to be lazy. The third has deep meaning to it. It explains how I feel that my life goals are slipping before my eyes, leaving me with a uncertain future. The fourth line describes how my goals of going to a difficult college feels impossible. The fifth line gives more of a personal motive to the reader. I want them to learn from my example and not slack off in school. And the last line just explains how I as the writer hope that they get the message not to slack in school if you want to achieve your goals.
