A Subtle Touch of Grace
Late on a Friday night (or even in the afternoon) you
 Told me you loved me
I hope it’s not too soon these
 Words
Are simple but we can rearrange the parts
 Work the meaning out
 Find a little (heart) and
 It’s sad and melancholy,
 What I put on
 The

    page
 But it
 ‘s
 Not stemmed from rage
 (It’s got)
Got a subtle touch of grace
 Got
 A subtle change of pace
 It’s words with
 In the words
 And lines between the lines
 Repetition’s key
 If
You ever want to rhyme and late
 In the night or even
 In the (afternoon)
You told me you loved me
 I hope.
 It’s not too soon.
