Love Is Glass
Love is glass,
 fragile and waiting
 to be broken.

 Constantly in need of repair,
 constantly breaking all around us.
 When the shattered shards pierce our hearts,
 we must pick them out slowly,
 slowly removing,
 slowly consoling
 the pain.

 It can be hidden,
 protected inside a cabinet,
 sheltered from the world,
 kept from all bad as well as light.

 It won't break or shatter,
 but it does no good in the dark.
 It needs light to shine,
 so we take the risk.
