Sammy
When I got home, she would wag her tail.
To make me smile, she would never fail.
A toasted bagel “just right” is as golden as the coat she had.
She used to always come to me because she knew I was sad.
She would comfort me like she knew I was hurt.
She saw me when I was at my best and worst.
Sam would always be there for me
Even when she didn’t know it.
She was the best dog I could ever ask for.
And yes, that is right, I will always know it.
