As a kid.

As a kid we are taught to follow our dreams
To follow our thoughts and strive for it all
As a kid we are taught to strive to life’s themes
To strive for pleasure yet follow the law
As a kid we are told to study hard
To study the world and all it can be
As a kid we are told to be ourselves
To be unique, open up, and see
As an adult we will look back and see what we made
See how foolish those thoughts were
As an adult we will realize we are still living in the shade
Realize how it all seems like a blur.
