Valentine's Day in the Graveyard
The worst day to run
 In the graveyard, our feet
 Crunching the gravel and dirt
 So brilliantly alive
Amidst the cars and black coats
 And blurred faces,
 Flowers for the lost ones.

 Two rows of chairs
 An old man
 The only one left
 He touches the casket
His hand recedes into his pocket
His face downward, he walks away
 The gravedigger
 And us
We are the only ones left

 Silent and dark
But our breath fogs the air
And our hearts and feet pound
 So vibrant

The snow starts, soft and white
 And magical
 The world twisted sideways
 A snapshot of perfect life.
