My Hunger

I feel the pain that
Wreaks my body,
The growling it makes
Is like hyenas,
The roars and shrieks
Echo in my mind,
Suppressing and ignoring
Is torture,
They’re all around me,
Tempting me forward,
Gnawing like rats
Inside my stomach,
I want to scream,
But that would make
Everything fall apart,
I have worked so hard
To get where I am today,
Why would I want it destroyed?
People just don’t understand
The agony I feel
