All I want to do is breathe poetry
I want to feel it like a stampede down my lungs and tickle my tonsils
Maybe a little something like this,

Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....And her cheeks were like the red roses painted on porcelain tea-cups
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....He wasn't just a dog, his puppy eyes held the key that fit the lock on my smile
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....My fingers dance like the flames on honeycomb candles to the touch of your skin
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....The letters on the paper become scrabble pieces, the suspense tiptoeing up the ladder of my adventure
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....Grandmother could weave whole biographies on that loom
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....That's the day I looked in the mirror and said "I'm not fat, I'm phat!"
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....And when you told me you'd always love my sugar sweet fudge brownie skin, I danced the night away in a bikini
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....I held you until you turned to statue, my child
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....When I kicked that ball, I traveled around the universe and back
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....His voice was like metal against metal as he scraped away my pride like salt water
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
....And all I could say was I,
Inhale
Love
Exhale
You.
