You wish me to believe your heart is true
To believe you are the man I knew
Hoe can I know for sure
Your heart for me is pure

The heartache and the pain
The lies and the distrust
Maybe I'll never
Be the same again

As I work to rebuild
The walls you so easily destroyed
I crawl inside myself
Everyone, to avoid

Things left unsaid
Actions left undone
I look ahead, to the future waiting
And know that if you truly wanted
I'd stand at your side again
