The In-between Season
The In-between season is the best of all.
It isn’t yet winter,
It isn’t yet fall.

The In-between season.
Where people wear sweaters and shorts
And it isn’t too cold to still play basketball outside in the courts

The In-between season.
The trees are still mostly green… but through the forests, the orange and yellow starts to leap
Sure the sun is going to bed early, but upon waking, Jack Frost is still half asleep

The In-between season.
Not yet time for hot chocolate, but past the time for a mid-day soda pop
And it is not uncomfortable at 6:00 a.m. to wait at the bus stop
