My words are enough
I have lost…
 my appearance.
 Hollow caverns lurk beneath
 once-sparkling eyes.
 I have lost…
 my laughter.
 A hyena yelp, tinged
 with the aftermath
 of insanity.
 I have lost…
 my spirit.
 Plodding dejectedly
about shards of rocks and glass
 that are hopes and dreams
 in disguise.
 But one thing,
 I have not lost.
 I still have
 my words.
 With my words,
 I can fight a dragon.
 With my words,
 I can win a war,
 and make my own
 Happily ever after.
I may have lost it all,
 but not my words.
