Sleek blonde beside brunette.
The corners of their eyes
crinkle upward.
The corners of their mouths
turn towards the sky.
One pair of eyes pressed closed,
the other wide with wonder.
The joyful pink in their cheeks glow,
splashes of freckles dance across
their noses.
Why do they smile and laugh so?
Must they have a reason?
Perhaps every one should
laugh like they used to.
