Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad. ~Norm Papernick

I dare you
To speak those words
Where I can see your eyes,
Where I can watch them glint
In whatever color
They turn out to be.

Tell me that
When I can watch you flicker,
Like a damaged movie.

A camera, with the flash on:
Ouch! I blinked.

But that’s all that happened.
Ouch. I blinked.
You won’t get a bite-back,
An irate reply,
Snapped tightly like a twig
Between my firm teeth.

You might get a smile,
Or a cheery false response.
Lucky you,
Because I bet you don’t get that many
Talking to people the way you do:

Condescendingly snooty,
That smirk of acrid contempt
Will never get you past high school

She pressed ‘send’
All insensitive,
Thinking I would break,
And with backlash,
I’d start a war.

I dare you
To speak those words
Where I can see your eyes,
And you can see mine,
So I can show you
Exactly how much
I care.

This is how I respond to anyone that wants to get me down. I don't fight back, I smile back. Then, I write a poem about it.

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of Gods great love, we are not consumed. His compassion never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Wow, this is a really unique style, I really love it! And it is really honest. If I'm correct in the meaning is it someone sending a message to maybe an ex instead of telling them this in person. If thats it so many people do it and I just really love how you conveyed it!
