Secrets and lies
Telling you would be unwise
Yet here I am betraying her trust
With utter disgust I will tell you
She told me what happened, during showcase
In a far away place, my mind wandered
As the scene she described, made me see stars
She burst into tears and showed me her scars
She said if I told, her loved one would go behind bars
I cannot handle this type of secret you see
I am a good secret keeper yet this one isn’t for me
What would you do in this situation?
When you’re stuck between trust and the right accusation
What would you do if your friend was hurt?
And you could do something, the right something to blurt
I am tired and depressed, and I have been mean to you
Will you forgive me? I really hope you do
Although I do not deserve your friendship, please try to understand
I know this is vague, but there is no other way
I promised her while crossing my toes
I felt as If this secret would make me stronger
I was wrong
But now I’m afraid
I can hold it no longer

I love your poem. I've been in a similar situation, and I know how it feels.
