The Voice of God

Someday I’d like to hear God’s laughter.
I’d like to hear Him say, “I’m here”
Or “You’re doing good”
If I’m doing good.
I want to listen to God’s voice when He says,
“Good job”
That is, if I’m even doing a good job.
I’d like to feel His hand
Patting me on the shoulder.
Hear his sigh when He gets flustered.
If God even gets flustered.
I’d like to hear Him say,
“I want you to ask me everything you’ve ever wanted to know”
That’d be nice.
Someday, I just want to hear God,
Just so I know I’m not
Chasing nothing.
