Life's Rubber
I close my eyes to the orange blankness,
And think about what I’m thinking about.
 It’s only a linear path, I see.
Laid out in front without doubt.

Without doubt of only the destiny,
And I search for the steps to reach there.
But they disappear like flattened stairs,
Only a dusky forlorn put in my stomach, I bear.

I see a cloud cast now over the end too,
Misplaced thoughts, ideas, wishes and dreams.
Each as if placing a weight causing a head-ache,
Each looming possibilities of a sea’s dividing streams.

You tell me to look ahead but don’t give me,
The means to lift my lowered eyes.
And I wonder whether I must give up,
Or stretch the rubber band of my life’s sighs

 Until it becomes inelastic.
