"Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will."

Sometimes I lose myself in this maze
Wandering amongst fellow helpless souls
Who have yet to achieve any love, nor praise
For their hearts are nomads, freely roaming and filled with holes.

This labyrinth is relentless, consuming
Its victims with grief, and exiling any shred of hope
The walls are miles high, and ever so looming
Reinforcing the despair with which we must cope.

Sometimes desperation seizes me with its firm grip
And so I close my eyes, allowing your face to fill my mind
This momentary release is all I need, before I slip
Back into the land of the confined.

The exit is always so near, yet always unattainable
As if some force were repelling my belonging to you
This longing is treacherous, and very near unsustainable
Until I finally grab hold of your hand, and to this loneliness I say adieu.
