Sometimes, life throws us curve balls. And it is not our job to watch the pitch, but to swing. better to swing for the fence than to go down looking. you never know, one of these days, you could possibly hit a homerun.

You stand in line at the ticket booth; it dwindles down and

down till you’re at the front, money in hand. You buy your ticket, walk into

the arena, to watch and participate and enjoy the show. You sit in your

comfortable seat, you feel as snug as home. You kick up your feet onto the chair

in front of you and relax. The “important” people get on stage and rock the

mic, and you? You just sit back and watch. You sit back and watch like everyone

else around you does. You sit back and watch all of the flashy lights, you

watch the speakers give their say, you watch the bands pick up their drums and

guitars and throw them into the crowd; but you just sit back and watch, Like

you always do. You use to want to be the leader of the band, you were supposed

to be the number one on the Chart list. But your there, sitting, watch, doing

nothing. This is your life. You sat by and watched your education pass you by,

you watched as your wife walked out the door, you watch while the war waged,

and you watched as the poor next door starved. All you have ever done is watch.

Are you tired yet? Are your eyes done watching? Your mind is imagining, your

thoughts are exploring, your conscious is nagging, and your wants are screaming

for you to get up off your seat and to do do something. So go. go do something

useful, go do something fun. Go steal the scene and stage, go stand in the

lights and be the star. Go crowd surfing, be that one who is the opening

performance, but gets the man act booed of the stage, be the one to stand up and

raise money to feed those hungry, get up and write that sonnet that speaks to

the thousands. Rise up and get an A in class, jump off the couch and chase your

wife. And when the Concert is over, don’t be the one to walk out of the

building, but the one off the stage. Don’t be the one standing in line with the

poster, but the one at the table signing autographs. Don’t drive home in the

rain, but hop on the tour bus off to the next city. Don’t get home and go to

bed, get ready to do it all over again.

Get off your butt, Go do something.
