Just your average teen
Just an average town
Just that average day
Of that average summer
Another scream of pain
Another doctor’s visit
Another day waiting,
Just waiting for that call
Many prayers
Many tears
Many sad faces
Another cancer patient
Leaving for the hospital
Leaving friends behind
Leaving your home
Many words unsaid
So much surgery
So much chemo
So much pain
Leaving this place one day
